Every year I try to outdo my outdoor tree wrapping from the previous one. I don't know why it never occurred to double back down rather than trying to plan power nodes for each individual branch. That's so much simpler and means I can actually do quite a bit more.

So much of us use the double back technique at the end of branches but not on the large trunks due to the extra amount of work required to take them down - but actually your method is to insure the strings don't sag on the trunks and you do it without harming the tree with staples. Shows your commitment and attention to detail - good job.
